In the last five years in the island paradise of Hawaii-

Coffee has been infested with the borer beetle and a leaf fungus.

Avocado a leaf fungus.

Banana "Bunchy top virus"

Macadamia trees are being attacked by a fungus and beetle.

Ohia trees virtually wiped out by a virus.

Coral reefs are being destroyed by tourists sunscreen and fertilizer runoff from golf resorts.

On the bright side -

95% of food is imported including all the above and especially pineapple.

Tourism remains high but the state wishes to increase it since tourism provides a wage of $10 to $15 per hour and the living wage is $112,000 yearly.

Homelessness has been outstandingly successful and increasingly rapidly.

Pesticide supplies remain strong supporting the chemical companies and the need for the vastly increased usage.

Tourists keep driving their rental vehicles down boat ramps into the ocean searching for tourist attractions.

ISN'T PROGRESS WONDERFUL!
